Why choose Yappy Campers Puppy Classes?

We know how important puppy classes are, but choosing the right school for you and your new family member can be tricky with so many options out there. Let us help take the stress out of knowing wether you picked the right place!

Puppy Classes done differently

Puppy classes are so much more than training a dog to “sit”, they are setting your puppy up for life!

At Yappy Campers Puppy Classes we believe that learning should be fun, for you and your puppy, that is why we are a force-free and positive reinforcement based school. This forms the foundation on which we build all our classes.

Raising resilient puppies to become confident, happy adult dogs!

Class structure and fees

Classes are held at Muldersdrift Animal Clinic on a Saturdays at 11:00am, and each course consists of 6 lessons.
Each lesson incorporates some theory (for the humans) and a lot of practical, because confidence is built in doing. Each lesson is an hour long.

The fees for the 6 lesson course is R1800.00, which includes a treat pouch and a bag of our home baked liver treats. This fee is payable before you and your pup can attend a lesson. See our enrolment form for payment info.

Fun without safety is like getting on a rollercoaster without being strapped in. For this reason we have strict ground rules. Please familiarise yourself with them.

  • All dogs must remain on lead at all times. Your instructor may ask you to take your dog off-lead at certain times depending on an exercise.
  • Only normal flat leads allowed, no retractable lines, long lines, chain leads or slip leads are permitted. Should you come to class with the wrong lead the correct lead will be provided to you for the duration of the lesson, and be returned by you at the end of class.
  • Your pup should arrive to class in a well fitted collar or harness. NO martingales, soft chokes, choke chains, prong collars or shock collars permitted. If you need help with fitting of a collar or harness please give us a woof.
  • We provide liver treats for lesson one, we want to set you up for success, but we ask that you also bring with some small soft treats for your pup to each class, like cut-up, cooked chicken or viennas. Avoid hard biscuits or overly- processed shop bought treats. Extra liver treats can be purchased from us at R40 per bag, but let us know in advance if you will require more.
  • No children under 13 years of age are permitted to handle a dog.
  • Please clean up after your dog, poo bags and bins are provided.
  • We do not permit that dogs greet each other while on lead, please respect other dogs space.
  • Only dogs who have a valid enrolment form on file and have submitted their vaccination records are permitted on the property.
  • Dogs must be between 2 and 4 months to join puppy classes.
  • Dogs must have had their second multi vaccination administered by a vet.
  • Please arrive on time, if you come late we cannot guarantee that we will be able to catch you up on missed theory or practicals, and if you arrive too early you may need to wait for us to finish setting up the lesson before we can let you in.
  • Non-compliance to any rules or guidelines could lead to dismissal from classes.
